The Jazz have dropped five straight to the Mavs, including a 94-91 loss in Salt Lake City on Jan. 19. Utah has also lost two straight and 14 of its last 16 trips to Big D.

"We made a point not to settle for jumpers because that is a team that's struggling defensively with their identity," said Nuggets forward Al Harrington. "There were so many open things, so we just tried to pick one of them and really attack and that was the rim."

Denver, which is 6-2 at the Pepsi Center this season, will finish a quick two- game homestand against the Clips.

Toronto improved to 2-1 on a five-game trek on Wednesday when Bargnani and Linas Kleiza, an ex-Nugget, scored 25 points apiece as the Raptors snapped a 12-game losing streak against the Utah Jazz with a 111-106 win in double- overtime.

It was Toronto's first win in the series since December 22, 2004.

Jose Calderon knocked down a three-pointer with 13.3 seconds remaining in regulation for Toronto, tying the game, while Paul Millsap buried a three with 3.0 seconds left in the first overtime to knot the contest for Utah.

It was the second time in two days that the Raptors snapped a long losing streak to another team. They beat Phoenix, 99-96, in Bargnani's return on Tuesday for their first win over the Suns since February 10, 2004.

"Everybody that got on the court tonight contributed and fought to win a double-overtime game," said Raptors coach Dwane Casey.

Toronto, which has lost eight straight and 13 of 14 vs. Denver, hasn't won three consecutive on the road since Dec. 11-18, 2007. The Raptors have dropped seven in a row and nine of 10 contests in the Rockies.

The Blazers were trying to win for the third time in as many days, but shot just 36 percent from the floor in the second half. LaMarcus Aldridge scored 18 points, Jamal Crawford and Nicolas Batum each netted 16 and Wesley Matthews had 15 in the loss.

The Suns, meanwhile, lost their second straight and for the seventh time in nine tries on Tuesday when Andrea Bargnani returned from a prolonged absence to net a season-high 36 points as the Raptors downed Phoenix, 99-96, in the Valley of the Sun.

Phoenix will be without backup center Robin Lopez tonight. The 7-footer was suspended for one game after being ejected Tuesday for making contact with an official after disputing a foul call.

(Sportsbook Betting Lines) - The Western Conference-leading Thunder will kick off a three-game road trip tonight when they visit Oakland to take on the Golden State Warriors. The Thunder (15-3) won their third straight game and for the 11th time in 12 contests on Wednesday when Kevin Durant scored 25 points, pulled down seven rebounds and blocked three shots, lifting Oklahoma City over the skidding Hornets, 101-91.

Marlins could start season without No. 2 starter Johnson

JUPITER, Fla. -- The Foorida Marlins are preparing for the likelihood that right-hander
Josh Johnson won't be ready when the season starts April 2.

Grapefruit League action starts Wednesday, but Johnson, penciled in as the No. 2 starter, hasn't even thrown off a mound at full speed since September. He's experienced some soreness in his right forearm.

MySportsbook.com have the Marlins listed with baseball betting lines at +800 to win the NL East this season .

''You guys know the math. If he's not on the hill then he becomes an opening day roster issue,'' manager Fredi Gonzalez said Saturday. ''We're borderline now.''

Johnson, who finished 12-7 with a 3.10 ERA in 2007, was supposed to throw on flat ground Saturday. That was canceled when he woke up with pain.

He played catch on Wednesday with no pain but felt discomfort in a throwing session on Thursday. He's expected to try again Sunday.

''Like we always said from the very beginning, we're going to take it easy on him,'' Gonzalez said. ''He didn't feel right, so we shut him down. We're going to take it back to step one and see where we're at.''

Among the candidates to take Johnson's spot in the rotation are left-hander Chris George and right-handers Yusmeiro Petit and Jose Garcia.

Right-hander Sergio Mitre, who missed most of last season with arm and shoulder problems, also is behind.

With Johnson's status doubtful, Gonzalez said right-hander Ricky Nolasco will stay in the rotation and no longer will be considered a candidate for closer.
